Well, they had their first program a few weeks back and it was one of the few programs that allow the whole family not just the kids. I was so upset that our oldest son Anthony could not attend. He is a freshman in High School and plays football and wrestles. His sport committments keep him away a lot. My mom came along instead. The program was really nice. We met at the clubhouse and the kids were all given a glass vase to paint and decorate. They also made candles to go in the vases and when everything was done all the the children put their vases up front with a picture of their loved one. Each one got up to light their candle and say who they loss. I was so proud of Alexis and Austin, they went up there together and spoke about Alex. It was so moving to see so many brave little faces get up and light a candle for thier mom, thier dad, thier brother, or their sister. My heart ached for each one of them yet I was so blessed by thier strength. We had a very nice lunch and then all headed to go bowling. Although my children were not quite ready to socialize with the other kids, they both said they look forward to the next outing...without their parents :-).
