Just as happy of a moment that was, I've been relatively out of touch with my emotions since. Not sure why, but I'm a little numb. I am not sure if this is a normal phase... I assume so but I really cant seem to tap into how I feel. I'll blog again once I am able to connect.
Yesterday we had another 3D/4D ultrasound. This time our children, my mother, my grandmother, my aunt, Sean's sister and neice were all able to attend. It definitely was a family affair. Ironically, during the session we were able to capture awesome 2D photos! They were actually clearer than the 3D images. We had a different tech this time, she was not as personable but she seemed able to manipulate the minute fluid she found to get the best shots. Everyone was really excited to see him. During the video Alex is sucking his fingers, rubbing his face, and he even opened and closed his eyes. Sadly, I can tell his space is getting tighter and tighter. Oh, he is also head down and I am so excited about that! It was a beautiful morning that we enjoyed sharing as a family.

The advent of color Doppler was a breakthrough in medical ultrasound. With this technique, it became possible to directly "observe" blood flow within the heart. Such visualization is achieved by color-encoding Doppler information and displaying the colors as an overlay on the 2D image of the heart.
